Hello and welcome, i'm also a member of the transit forum Dont think the 2.3 head will make much difference, the 2.3 is basically the same engine with a longer stroke. I would expect although I dont know for sure that the 2.3 block would fit your gearbox, it is a bit higher engine than the 2.0 due to the balancer shaft but the gearboxes are interchangable on the Scorpio therefore if yours fits the 2.0 it should fit the 2.3 The 2.0 16v will give you another 20 bhp the 2.3 will give you and extra 35ish Have a look around here http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/DOHC2-3manual.htm Or you could always try a 2.9 12v or the 2.9 24v Cosworth

part of the reason im thinkin of changin engine is A: i always pull engines out of what i got and increase the power a bit.B:my engine is on close to 120000 miles & is starting to sound a bit tappy on start up for a while ...so if the head gotta come off for new hydraulic followers & timing chain and tensioner then why not add another 8valves..or can i get a high lift cam & new followers ..i thought with the mileage to just go for a lower milage 16v complete lump but in an ideal world i want to maintain the lpg..

| But you're going to do an engine swap?? Your vin plate will give you the diff ratio, or at least the code for it
