2.5TD is there a fuel tank filter??

Hi all, I was wondering if there is any sort of gauze filter on the fuel pick up pipe in the tank on the 2.5TD models? I've been  running on used veg oil for the last 10k without problems but the car is now holding back despite several filter changes. I figure that it's either drawing air somewhere or there is a blockage. I've been getting a bit of sediment in the bottom of the main filter so I'm wondering if I've had a bad batch of veg oil in the system
I checked the manual section but there's no mention of any filter other than the main one at the front, any ideas??

Cheers Jim

Suggest you give it good run through with some GOOD fuel and/or wash all the lines out with methanol.

Hi Highlander, I thought there might be, I phoned my FMD today and they said that nothing was showing up on the micro fiche  Roll Eyes I might drop the tank once I've run it low and give it a check.
Sorry gozz, no fish n chips, just makes you hungry if you happen to be following me  Grin

Thanks for that Highlander, hope it's chicken pakora, my favourite  Grin just a shame that the tank has to be dropped to access it, I'll need to wait a few days as there's 3/4 a tank of veg oil in there just now!

Not got a blocked exhaust maybe?
Disconnect the fuel pipe in the engine bay and plug in an external diesel feed to rule out the pump/tank

Hi Gozz, that thought had occurred to me too but I'd better do it right  Grin

Highlander, I don't think it's a blocked exhaust as it slowly gets worse as the main filter gets older. I'm getting some sediment in the main filter after a hundred miles or so, so I suspect it's more on the fuel side. Will give the exhaust a check though as it's easy enough to do  Smiley
