I was reading this page about the HBC fan repair and was woundering what page they are refering to when they say "there was a good procedure mentioned on Merkurman's site" ? My fan is starting to make some small noices at low rpm“s now and then... //Snowy..

Snowy. Gost knows all about these fans !! . The first thing to do is remove the HBC control which sits on top of the unit. When that is removed you can see the motor which drives the fans. Spray the motor with WD40 or a contact cleaner and see if that cures the problem. The picture at 11 on the link Moonchalk has posted shows the fans and the motor. All you can see with the HBC removed is the motor itself. The fans are concealed beneath the cover shown in an earlier photo.
