Frozen Doors

Anybody got a tip on preventing Scorpio doors from freezing shut? I might as well have been locked out of the car this morning cos it took ages to get in even after copious amounts of de-icer! Now the seal is torn on the drivers side....gggrrrr! 
Like most people on this forum, I've owned many cars over the years but never had so much trouble on frosty mornings as with Scorpios. They just seem to me particularly susceptible to freezing the doors shut.

hi there
spray some silicon spray on a cloth and rub into the seals.
talc powder does the same thing.

i always boil kettle and then let it cool down afew minetes then pour around door edges works a treet open door every time hope this helps cheers.

You should try an Omega then, as soon as the weather got very cold, the door seals didn't freeze the locks did, in the open position, so you got the door open but could not shut it. It was always doing it.
Glad you asked this as I have the same problem with mine, so as I don't have any silicon spray it will have to be the baby powder for now.
Thnaks for asking this, another niggle solved.

My theory is that it's design of the roof
In the old days most cars had a welded lip atop the roof (which you could attach your roof rack) where the roof panel and the chassis side panels met.
This lip averted the water from the upper door seals.
Nowadays most cars are built by robots and this weld lip is on the underside of the roof and so subsequently the water drips into the rubber seals and freezes.
I agree, the scorp is the worst car I've owned for sticking ( all 4 ) doors .

Wipe the door seals with silicone grease - get it from DIY stores ( plumbing section ) or plumbers merchants.
Would not use Vaseline as it ( being petroleum jelly ) will probably attack the rubber
