Right... Its taken at least 2 litres of water and a litre of pre mixed antifreeze and let the temp of engine get up for 30 mins..without holding my breath ive had 2 mins of hot air again before i had to jump into work.. I squeezed some of the visible rubber pipes as well Does this mean it was just fluid s far too low and the matrix is ok now?? ta

very true Stuart... I dont like the look of the expansion tank cap..thats a quick sort out but cant see where the coolant s leaking the engine temp has been bang on the 3 oclock position for yrs ..Ive got to do london in the morning hope the heaters still ok but yes was in need of 3 litres of fluid it was.. why did the heat go then because the water was low??

hi there i'd give everything to do with the engine cooling system a really good look over. my car's temp sat bang on the middle of the gauge even AFTER the head went! have you used any radiator/leak fixes? this can block the matrix AND the radiator. hopefully yours isn't as bad as mine was. hth

| I've done the same in a 2.3 I bought for spares, I knew the head gasket was going (It was actually the head that had cracked) and was topping it up regularly while driving but eventually it got worse, lost all the water and blew the engine, the temp gauge never moved above half even when the engine was cooking!
