went shopping came back to find someone had drove into the back of my car left a note on screen to say hit your car sorry didnt have the decency to leave details etc bumper was already cracked but much worse now rang insurance company they told me excess is £250 car is not worth repairing Im gutted they want to write it off its only done 89000 miles drives like a dream only other problem is nearside rear window doesnt work just a switch i think I have loved this car since i had it dont know what to do now Any advice appreciated.

Sorry to hear about that. If it is just the bumper then a 2nd hand one should not cost more than £50. 4 or 5 cans of aerosol paint is enough to do a reasonable job. Electric window switches are easy to replace. Advertise for what you need in the parts wanted section and I'm sure you will get some replies.

Hi....get the bumper repaired or replaced if the car is a good one.....crazy to let her go if thats all she needs....insurance company's are barmy. I know of 5 or 6 cars that have been scrapped because of minor body damage that the DIY,er could have repaired. It's so frustrating.....saw an S reg facelift in a Northwich scrappy that only had cracked front headlight and small crack to front bumper...the scrappy had lifted the car thru the windows thereby destroying the roof and leaving the interior open to the elements....what a waste!!!! Get her repaired matey....good luck.
