Superchipping the ECU may be the cheaper & easier option but I don't think it will give you huge increase in power  Smiley

Can the 2.3 engine & drive actually handle a turbo or supercharger without....as they say....blowing a gasket ? Undecided

fit a 2.0 16v diff

I've heard about fitting RS2000 camshafts and modded ECU somewhere.

Hi,

the 2.0 16v diff has a ratio of 4.27

ie prop shaft turns 4.27 times to turn the rear wheels one complete cycle.

your 2.3 should have a 3.9 diff, prop turns 3.9 times to turn the rear wheels once.

so the 4.27 diff gives a lower gearing through all the gears giving better acceleration.

You will find your engine revs around 10% higher for the same speed than it did with the 3.9 diff and your speedo will read 10% faster unless you change the toothed drive pinion on the VSS for the 4.27 version.

Your mpg will be lower on a motorway run as your engine is revving higher but i think it actually improves the mpg around town as its lower geared.

But its a straight swap, I can do them in around 1-2 hours easily depending on the bolts Smiley

I've done it on a few 24v's, they have a 3.6 diff so the 4.27 makes a big difference, about 2 secs off the 0-60 time Wink

Yep saloon and estate use the same ratio.

There is some Ford literature out there that says otherwise but its wrong Wink

the RPM sits about 1000 higher with the 4.27 diff on a 24v than it does with the 3.64.

Havent got a note about it at 60 but at 70 the 4.27 will show 3500 instead of 2500 with the standard 3.64
