Good Morning, I am new here, having just purchased my first Scorpio (a '95 2.9 saloon) Previously had a Granada 2.0GLE and years ago a 3.0 MK1 Granada Sport. Will be replacing the Windscreen Wiper arms tomorrow as these failed on the way home Problem is, the batteries on the key fob "stopped working this morning" Been to the Lock specialist and changed the batteries, but he said the remote is dead. £120 each on back order with no delivery date. Now, i am not lazy and don't mind using the key to get in and out, but i can't get in the boot. 1. Should i be able to get into the boot with just the key 2. if so, and the lock is gashed (this very well may be the case , is it simple to change the lock ? Any help would be gratefully received Cheers Scott

It may be that the boot lock has been changed before, that's why the key wont work, but yes you should be able to open the boot with the key, I havn't done the job but would think it fairly simple to replace if you wanted to

The details for the boot lock are on THIS page. Just scroll down to the relevant link. The first thing to do though is to give the lock barrel a good dose of WD40 as if it hasn't been used they are well known for seizing up. It is also worth trying another key if you have you have one. It is also possible to rebuild the lock but let us know how you get on. With regard to the wiper arms if you mean the mechanism attached to the motor beneath the grill there is a temporary fix and also details of replacement arms at less cost than a Ford dealer will want. Have a read of This. Welcome to the site.

Hi, Welcome to the site. If you have replaced the batteries in your fob you may well have to re - program it to the car. The procedure is fairly simple involves turning the ignition switch on and off a few times and when u hear a "bong" from inside the car you press one of the buttons on the remote. I cant remember the exact sequence/procedure but the info is on the site, or someone will be along shortly to tell you. HTH Dave
