Does anyone have an opinion on Comma AQ202 auto box fluid. It says on the bottle it meets Ford spec WSS-M2C202-B. I am thinking of doing a fluid change and my local motor factor has this for £6.50 plus VAT per litre.
Thanks

If you are doing a fluid change don't buy in 1 litre containers as it will probably work out very expensive.
ATF can normally be purchased in 5 litre containers for a big saving per litre.

Can't comment on the Comma product although they have been around for a long time and it says it meets the Ford spec so I personally wouldn't have a problem using it in my own car.

hi there

i'd check out what an auto- shop would charge for the job.

fluid and filter change when i got it done was £100 +VAT. no mess and checked by the professionals.

something to think about.

also, remember that your only changing 1/2 of the fluid (unless you pump it out), as the rest stays in the t/c.

Hi Andrew

I take your point but I already have the filter, gasket & "O" rings, actually had them for about 2 years so I thought I would have a go myself maybe over Easter. I am sure several other members have been successful in doing this even taking into account the "Amoco Cadiz" syndrome. Any technical advise you may offer much appreciated.

Cheers

Comma is a good name in oils and often used by the trade and some race teams ...
Caterham use it in their motors so should be well up to the spec....

you cant get the comma fluid in 5lt lots, i had the same problem when i did my fluid, dont buy too much as you wont get all the oil out, i think the whole system hold about 10lt but you will only get roughly 5 out, i bought 10 for mine only put about 5-6 in, but i was able to get my money back on the rest even though it was a special order, i think the comma oil is about the cheapest you will get.

You could try buying it off your local Auto Gearbox Specialist, take a 5 lt can with you.  I buy it in 205 lt drums and sell it for half the Comma price, as do most transmission shops.
