Full respray - where and how much?

I'm planning to do a full respray in the original colour in the upcoming months and am wondering how much that can cost me together with fixing a small dent on the passenger door + a crack on the rear bumper and getting rid of some rust on the back wheel archers.
anybody did a full respray? know a good place to do that around Edinburgh?

If you're talking about having it done professionally you are looking at serious money, probably two or three times what you Scorpio is actually worth..  Undecided

yeah I know that... a friendly garage gave a figure of 1500£ but I'm still doing research if it can be done cheaper...

but still if I have no other option I'll do it for 1500£.  Undecided

I'd bite his hand off if thats for the repairs and a full respray!! good price Wink

The thing is with resprays as with most other things, you get what you pay for, im quite sure someone out there could do it for £500 but you'd see the difference Wink

good to hear that, so it really is the price for friends Wink . but the question is how good is it really and can it be better? Smiley

you're probably right...

anyway I was also thinking of doing this fancy polish, that they often do with old cars when the colour gets bit blank/worn. like when you want the old red paint to shine again, i believe it's basically about getting to the next layer of the paintjob.
I thought it could be done on the most of the car and just respray the bumper after fixing + maybe the doors if they'll need it after fixing the dent.

don't know if that's a realistic idea and how much can it cost...

£1500 is cheap!

To do a proper job they will need to strip all external trim ( some of which can be very tricky ) fully flat and degrease the car, fix any damage, mask up the rest of the car, spray on at least 3 good coats of a quality paint, wait for it to dry, refit all the trimwork.

yeah, they even told me that they're not going to charge me for striping the car... and that's the main point where i'll be saving money...

good to know that they're not making a fool of me. i'll probably go for it...

but still am looking for advise about that polish...
