My own personal preferance is Autoglyms range of polishes, especially if your paintwork is a little tired. Their super resin polish contains fillers & has a very mild abrasion quality to it. I usually use this for the first 10 or so polishes in order to get a uniform sheen to the paintwork before moving on to Autoglym ultra deep shine. It is particulary good on dark colours but leaves a superb lustre on any colour. A lot of people use Meguires also & say it's fantastic stuff, but my last 2 cars were trophy winners so my loyalty will stay with Autoglym...HTH

I agree with rich1, it is hard work but well worth the elbow grease.

i have couple of cars and a kit car and this works the best on all of then the westy shines like a mirror after a couple of hrs work and that a gelcoat fibreglass body.

I use a buffer /9" variable speed angle grinder i got the pads from screwfix and local auto paint supply shop.

westy is at the doctors moral of the story never let the my wife drive anything more powerfull than a milk float (trashed my scooby3 days old with 126 miles on the clock as well.)  Cry Cry Cry Cry

I have used mer as well but found it needs polishing once a week as the shine dose'nt last that long, but i guess if you need to keep out of the other halfs way it's ok. Grin Grin Grin

If you can still get it, TurtleWax Carnuaba Emerald Series is the nuts. It leaves no dusty residue and does'nt whiten black rubber etc. In the past I've bought it on Ebay.
