Is this a bit of Scorp?

This morning I went into the garage, to reverse the Scorp out and swap some wheels and tyres over. As I was about to get in, I noticed a trail of rusty metal. Once I had the car reversed out of the way, I was able to check the bits out in more detail. Most of it was along the line of the drivers side, though there were a few bits under the passenger side too. I always drive in forwards, so it is unlikely to have come from the rear end. The 'ring' of metal would originally have been about 7" to 8" diameter. There is no oil on it and the bits are very brittle iron oxide or rust. Edge on it looks like a shallow Z and one of the sides is lightly polished, as if it has been rubbing on something. There were no mounting holes that I could see, so this has either come from the centre of a larger piece of metal, or the outer edge of something. My first thought was that it looked like a section of the thin tin back plates that you see on drum brakes, but obviously my Scorp 2.9 12v doesn't have drum brakes. I have checked around the area of the brakes and there is nothing obvious missing. I don't think it could be from anywhere but the Scorp, the garage floor was cleared last week. I have taken some photos and linked to them below... http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/m1byt/P1010102.JPG http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/m1byt/P1010104.JPG http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/m1byt/P1010105.JPG http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/m1byt/P1010106.JPG http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/m1byt/P1010107.JPG

Could be from the face at the edge of the disks where they sometimes have a rusty band that builds up - looks a bit like that when you scrape it off.

I don't think there are any back plates to the disks and the disks themselves are fairly new - certainly not rusty enough to be throwing bits off.

I suppose I ought to take another look, I didn't see any at all when I looked the first time. It looks as if it might match the edge back plate in your photo.
