well you need to keep a fair bit of the wiring... probably more then you expect... those 'boxes' behind the glove compartment are: ECU and the central locking module. well i always thought it was a crazy idea but seriously i don't think it will fit the mini, even if you can squeeze in the engine, you can already see there is a fair bit of electronics that needs to go with the engine and the gearbox so you can hope it will fire up...

You were warned You have a few options, fit an aftermarket ECU (most expensive option) Fit the Granada 24v BOA loom Carefully go through the entire loom and find out what you need then remove the rest. (very time consuming) Do what i'm doing in my Transit and keep the entire 24v loom and use it in your mini (very cheap) The Scorpio has a very complicated wiring system, there is another guy on the Transit forum fitting a 24v BOB into his van and it will only start if he plugs the old Scorpio door into the loom!! I've just removed a complete 24v loom, will post a pic later, scary viewing!!

You could cut them but I think i'd unclip them from the multiplugs, remember the Scorpio uses multiplex wiring though.. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/multiplex. its not just a matter of removing everything, if the CCM doesnt get all the right signals you're going to get problems.. I'm not up on my afterrmarket ECU's , some of the other guys on here will help you with that but there are plenty available
