Snoopy
Thanks for info.
The problem for me is I already had this drawing but as now, I do not have the list which identifies the numbers on the schematic.
So what No. is the drop link?
Regards

It might be handy to note that the drop links aren't sided. Both O/S & N/S are the same part  Wink

Funny you should mention that Jonny,

I was always under the impression they were sided for some reason till I was replacing one recently with one off another car and realised they were the same!

Stuart, I'm shocked.....not because you didn't know the drop links were the same until recently, but because I knew something about the Scorpio that you didn't  Shocked...... Grin

Gentlemen, I do have another question for you. The person giving me a quote for the problem said the quote would depend on "whether it was a large or small link". From the drawing it looks like one piece.
Any ideas?

It is a one piece part.
Simple DIY fix or ask someone else IMHO.

As previously stated, I am 75 and handicapped so "simple DIY" is not quite up my street.
So all your help is a godsend to me and I use it to pick where I get the work done. So far, I was quoted £65 all inclusive, BUT this guy asked the question 'large or small' etc.
There is one more thing, the garage who serviced the car said the front brake hoses "starting to crack" and this guy quoted £100 all in.
Thoughts?

Make sure you get a fixed price in that case, forget asking and you'll end up paying a lot of cash for opening seized bolts etc. The guides on this site are awesome and inspiring to start doing things yourself. The cost for tools pay itself off after the second hour, and you use them for years.

OK, didn't know that you couldn't do DIY stuff.

hi there

parts prices are about £25-£35 for the drop link
£30-£40 (pair) for the brake pipes.

your quote isn't too bad, but as said earlier, make sure the price is fixed.

Wadman.
You need one of those small one man band garages, trade price of a drop link is £14 from a factor,if you buy it,a small man should fit it for £30 in the hand, whilst he is doing it,ask him about the condition of the brake hoses.
