Speedo Needle

Afetr fixing the suspension found bat was a tad flat and the needles performed their wild dance, got car started but speedo does seem to want to return to its correct location. If I flix ign on and off it rises anti clock wise about a 1/4 then flops down, think batt is on way out so any ideas as MOT thurs and that must be a fail

TRy giving the dash a thump when switching on ... It sounds like it has jumped over the end stop .. even try another reset using the trip reset button .
Others might have more ideas....but I know the method mentioned has had success by others

Yes,
It's gone past the ledge at the bottom during the reset & didn't have the umph to get back.
Do a reset, and then next time you turn on the ignition, as the other needles reach the end of their travel give the dash a thump – with any luck the needle will jump the ledge at the bottom of the cluster & return.

Hi,
This happened to me several times, each time being freed by the 'thump' method; however, one day this procedure didn't work so I ended up drilling a 0.5mm hole (carefully!) into the perspex instrument cover as close to the needle at the bottom of the dial as possible.
I then borrowed a curved needle (almost semi-circular) from the other half's sewing kit and poked it through the hole to gently push the speedo needle over the obstruction. It then springs back to its normal rest position.
If you didn't know the hole was there, you wouldn't even notice it.
