A whil back I posted a problem with my only key not opening the boot, consensus was a worn key.  tend to agree with that as "she who must be obyed" had the same problem with her escort, I tried one of the spare keys and it opens.  Both of our keys are smoothish compared to a new one, so that could have been the problem.  Ok for her as she has all 3 keys I only have a black with red chip, so question if I had a new key cut would the profile be the same or would it be more pronounced?

It will be more pronounced, they dont actually copy the key profile they use the info off it to create a new one.

To save reprogramming I just swap the new metal part into the old plastic fob, you can pull them out with a bit of wiggling and persuasion and superglue the new one back in Wink

Every keycutter will do it... Don't listen to Stuart about swapping the metal bit... Swap the chip! It can be removed easily with a pin [there is a small hole for it by the place where the metal bit comes in] and no glueing etc. is required... Smiley

Well i've just looked through a pile of over 100 Scorpio keys and can see no hole anywhere, do you have a picture of what you are referring to and how its done?
