Easy job, did the ghia before it went to boatdrinks Smiley

Leave the kits on ebay - quality is very poor - just go into your local ford dealer and ask for an ignition barrel kit,  mine cost me £17.48 with the VAT in.

While you're there, ask the parts guy to read your key for you so you know its right - then its just a simple matter of mechano and a little grease to build a nice new lock.

Noticed that the 24v lock is getting that tell tale rattly-stiff feeling when it gets turned, so i'll be getting another kit soon i think Smiley

don't use wd40 on ignition locks, though Stuart does... Wink graphite powder is the right lubricant for locks of any kind and you'll find it in your ignition lock, together with wd40 it transforms to a solid mass and damages the locks...

Bruce. Get it done ASAP !. If you can't turn the key to position 1 you will NOT be able to get the lock out without smashing it. This won't wait until September!!. Roll Eyes
I'm sure Snoopy meant 1/2 an hour!. You may be able to get a dealer to do it for you as it needs circlip pliers etc rather than a big hammer!!. Grin.

Be very careful if you use graphite not to puff too much in, best not to do it directly from the container as you can easily get so much in the lock the key wont go in – but safest to rebuild the lock before it packs up.
