Not done the job myself, but if you mean where it says here:
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/matrix.htm

"Remove the two nuts securing the heater box to the bulkhead. Note that the bulkhead here is horizontal, (below the air conditioning cooler)"

I believe it's attaching to the filter box on the outside and looking from outside you can see the location of the brackets each side of the box towards the back - might give you an idea of where to look inside the car.

Tekno, where did you get the new matrix from ?......not wishing to alarm you in anyway, but that new matrix may not fit through the gap in the centre of the heater box due to the end being too wide  Undecided

When I replaced my matrix about 3 years ago (yes, it is a nightmare), I bought a cheap one & it wouldn't fit in the heater box, so I ended up taking it back to the shop & getting the proper one from Ford  Smiley

Good luck  Smiley

I bought that from local car parts store so it's not from Ford. It's meant to be used with sierra, granada and scorpio without CC (and yes my scorpio has CC)

That was very tight, I mean VERY TIGHT to put inside heater box, because cooling fins didn't want go through middle whole. It was not possible to put matrix inside before I ripped whole heater box to outside of car.
