Hi guys, never done them before so wanted to ask first before attempting. I need to change the rear radius arm bushes. Can/do they come out easy and without removing the radius arm itself? It looks like ford/fordparts uk are the only suppliers or are they available aftermarket? Advice would be gratefully received. Lee

Pretty sure they are the same as a Sierra and you can get polyeurathane replacements which are easier to fit than the Ford ones as they come in 2 parts. Removing the old ones can be done using a length of threaded rod, some nuts and washers and a large socket...or you could do what I did on my Sierra and use a hole saw in a drill to cut the steel tube out from the rubber - you will need to do it from both sides - and then prise the remaining rubber part out with a large screwdriver. I think you will need to remove the suspension arms to replace the bushes, don't think it can be done in situ...although I am sure someone will correct me if that is wrong.

Star sign is Scorpio ! Sierra XR4i's are great...especially when fitted with 4WD

Hi Mike, Both companies have said that they do not have the bushes yet for the scorpio but may do them in the future, so it looks like I'll have to go to ford or fordpartsuk.

Hi Mike, I may have posted this wrong in regards to the wording or you did understand what I was talking about!! I am going to change the FRONT radius arm rear bushes, the very large bushes attached to the underside body which seems to be held on by a carrier with four bolts. My question is: Can I just remove the carrier and remove the bush or do I need to remove the other bolt through the other bush and drop the radius arm down or remove the whole radius arm altogether. You can replace that bush without having to remove anything else....just undo the end nut, then remove the plate (4 bolts) & wedge the arm down enough to be able to slide the old bush off/put new bush on. Make sure the bush is located properly with the cutout bit on the bush edge facing up

Cheers Jonny. Will get under the car when the dreaded rain has stopped long enough to do the job.

When you tighten the rear nut, it's important to tighten it with the weight of the vehicle on the ground, otherwise you'll stress the new bush & it won't last very long
