My keyfob doesnt work

....hasnt since i bought the car.I have put new batteries in,tried the reprogramming steps and still no worky.....any other little tricks im missing?

Many thanks.....i have the chime sound when turning the key to the position ,i also have it when i turn it back.....i opened the fob and discovered it is very clean and also has little bits of tinfoil under the 3 buttons...so it appears the last owner tried to fix the fob.......maybe a new one is required 
does the fob from a transit work ??

I think that a scorpio one is the only one that works. i had all this hassle when i bought my first scorp with no fob. They can be a pain to get working I did end up buying three fobs to get one to work in the end.

Definitely no. I remember a guy saying in another forum that he tried first Transit keyfob.. didn't work.
