I'm just curious. If that membrane is broken and it spills ATF out when hose is detached, how does it affect?

It will draw ATF into the engine and deplete the amount,not a good state of affairs.
Only the 12valves have this of course.

And diesel ? right?  
 
Because of that different autobox, A4LDe.  
 
Does A4LDE have something else instead of that? What?

I have never seen a diesl auto,but they have EEC IV so yes they would have the old box presumably.A4LDE is fully electronically controlled via EEC V,and needs no other intervention.

It has a big knob on the end, the theory is you can adjust the modulating pressure to alter shift feel and timing slightly.
 
Unless you have intimate knowledge of these transmissions and transmission pressure gauges don't buy it.
 
We experimented with these years ago and even on our test rig they were awkward to set up.  It is very easy to burn out your box with these, stick to the standard one.  Wink
