I'm not sure if I'm being a bit thick here  Tongue.....but how do you remove a washer jet from the bonnet ?  Huh

The O/S one is kaput...cleared the pipes, stuck a pin in the jets & blown compressed air through it, but still only get a trickle of water coming through....& the outlets won't stay in the same position....so kaput  Roll Eyes

But I can't get it out  Huh....The only way I can think of is wedging it out with a large flat blade screwdriver on a cloth (to protect bonnet), but that will just damage the edges of the jet hole  Huh

How do you do it ?

Jon. The unit clips in as you suggest. They are awkward....it is a Scorpio.... Wink so there are  two choices. If you use a large screwdriver from the underside of the bonnet you need to get the blade at the front of the washer unit and lever the 'clip' backwards and try and push upwards at the same time. If you do it from above protect the bonnet with masking tape or cloth and insert a thin flat blade under the front edge and push backwards and lever up at the same time. I use a small flat bladed pallet knife. The 'clip' is at the front so the unit will slide back a little then. hopefully, a little upward pressure will release it. Good luck, Mike.

PS Make sure you separate the tubing and wiring to the unit underneath before you start. The wiring to the heated units is particularly brittle and vulnerable.

Did one of mine a while back - best done from UNDER the bonnet to protect the paintwork !
Use a flat bladed screwdriver - about 8 or 10 inches long with the tip about 3/8" wide - to lever the clip.
It's a lot easier if you have the replacement washer jet to hand to see how the clip works !

Got it out & replaced it  Wink......it was all working fine until the outside temperature hit -1 & both washer jets froze up  Huh.....They're supposed to be heated  Roll Eyes

Anyone know what they work in conjunction with ?...for example, does the heated screen have to be on for them to defrost...?  Smiley

The handbook, page 23, mentions the mirrors in conjunction with the rear screen but I can't find any reference to the screenwashers. I have a feeling that the washer jet heaters come on with the front screen heater.  Over to you Jon.  Wink
Just checked out 'Snoopy's' wiring diagrams Here and it looks like it's the front screen heater switch that controls them.  Huh

Just been outside to check mine as the car is covered in a good deal of frost  temperature is -6. Brrrrrrr
Switched on the REAR screen heater first and only the driver side jet defrosted, looks as if the other one needs replacing but I can live with that.
