One of my 24 valve Scorps has an intermitant squeal coming from the rear wheels area. The squeal increases in frequency as I increase speed. In olden times I would put this down to something like a bit of grit lodged between the the disc and pad . If I aply the handbrake slightly the squal dissapears, on releasing the handbrake again it comes back. I have no other suspension concerns What do you say folks? Mike

. Do NOT leave it. If it is the bearing it could fail totally with disastrous results and if you continue to run it it wear the hub. Read Snoopys' article Here

Thanks for your warnings folks. I shall not go anywhere in her till I know just what the problem is. It is too cold, wet and miserable to do anthing at present. I'm just miffed as she (once known as The Beast, presently known as Twoppence is really at the best she has been for years following much love care and hard work from Bill and Co. in Paignton ) is now a truly Super Scorpio. Happy New Year to Everybody Mike

To get rid of common brake squeal you could try a little hair laquer spray on the discs, if it cures it then all should be well but of course the priority is wheel bearing investigation. Kenboy
