Rubber trim around estate rear windows
« on: Jan 21st, 2010, 7:25pm »

I've noticed the rubber trim around the rear side windows on my estate has gone a bit 'wrinkled' since we've had all the cold weather recently.

Anyone else had this ?
Is it likely to stay like it or go back to normal when things have warmed up again ?

Is it easily replaced ?

Thanks.

They seem to straighten out again in the warm weather, i nearly replaced one on a saloon once which had wrinkled all the way around but it straightened out all on its own

Thinking back to when I had my Mk3 Granada Scorpio estate - that did the same when it got cold, just not as bad as on my current Scorpio.

Are the rubber mouldings bonded in with the glass or not ?

I don't think that the moulding is bonded in with the glass, just the window is bonded onto the window aperture...... here's a link..... http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/windwsmanl.htm

The wrinkles should straighten out as the weather gets warmer..........
