Hi I was advised to renew the drier prior to replacing air compressor, on the surface the task looks straight forward, the bracket that secures the drier to the vehicle are held by to nuts the top one is a little awkward to get at but doable but the bottom one has me baffled on how to remove it just seems totally inaccessible  I have had a look at the thread for this and all it says that it is a pig to remove I would be horrified if the radiater has to be taken off but I can't see any other way, are you able to help with this one.

Ken.
You can get in there with a 1/4" drive socket with a U/J on it.If it is tight, just bend the bracket slightly to the right, this does no harm.

Silly design, I managed mine with an open ended spanner but wasn’t easy & probably wouldn’t have worked if the thread had been very rusty.

The aircon guy used a swivel head ratchet spanner which made the job much easier.

Hi I eventualy managed to remove the drier and the answer to removing  that awkward nut is to as previously mentioned is to bend the drier bracket as far to the right as it will go to the right using the drier body as a leverage point this will bend the frame its attatched to the nut now becomes more accessible and I used a 10mm open ended spanner  after the replacement has been fitted and nuts tightened up just simply reverse the leverage which will bring the drier back to correct alignment just a word of advice the nuts are self locking and can only be removed turn by turn when using an open ended spanner. Hope this information is of use, btw weather below freezing point and me knocking 70, gotta be bloody potty.

Time taken just over two hours but if I had to do it again probably less than half of that
