How do I disable the Cat

Hi Guys
Have got a head gasket tester fluid kit and if it shows that the gasket has gone I would like to find which cylinder.
To do this the instructions say to disable the cat to prevent unburnt fuel from the isolated cylinder burning in the wrong place as you basically isolate the sparkplugs one at a time until the leaking cylinder is found and there is a risk of non combusted fuel igniting in the wrong place if the cat is not disabled.
How do I disable the Cat or is it actually a case of removing it?
It's the 24V BOB engine.

A cat is is a ceramic honeycomb coated with special metals that simply react with the exhaust fumes coming to contact with it. There is no way other than to remove it if you want to protect it.

theres also 2 cats on a 24v, they are directly after the manifolds

If you prove head gasket failure there is no point in investigating further because you will need to remove the head to get it checked for truth and replace the gasket,at which stage all will become clear.Just looking at the spark plug tips should give you an idea as to which cylinders are at fault.If you decide to do a compression test,take the fuel pump relay out to disable injection.
