Hi Guys its been a while since i've been on as i killed my Cossy engine about 3 years ago and the beast has sat in my garage ever since. What i'd now like to do is to swap the 2.9 lump for a 2.0 of 2.3 from another Ultima (or idealy a Diesel?). Does anyone know how difficult this would be? Is the engine loom just plugged into the main loom or would i have to swap the entire loom from the donor car? I was hoping for the first oprion so i could maybe then just swap the ECU and the rev counter and away i drive. But i'm sure knowing the Scorpio as i do its not going to be that simple Any help of advise would be greatfully received as the wife is starting to get fed up with the space the dear old Scorp is taking up so its time to either sort out the problems or get rid. I want to downsize the engine to help make the running costs a little lower. Mant thanks Dean

Unfortunately not a simple plug and play Dean. The looms are different, as are instrument clusters, diffs, brakes, suspension etc... Traction control issues etc... swapping from auto to manual is also a major undertaking if thats how you were going to proceed. All possible of course BUT......... i'd look for a cheap 24v engine and fit LPG
