Sorry I don't know! But going by that Wood Auto picture they seem to be all sealed in the same plastic? Have you had any luck with Wood Auto by the way?

Yes diodes get hot, as a rough estimate about 1 Watt for each Ampere of current flowing, OTOH each is conducting only half of the time.

It's possible a diode is breaking down in reverse, I expect this is aggravated by heat and could explain while the battery light is dimly lit. As the Voltage might be low on that half cycle.

New rectifier is on it's way, the shipping was to my surprise very reasonable, only 4 pounds to Finland. Luckily the alternator has been stable and the battery has remained at full charge despite the dim light popping up once the car warms up.

Lessons learned:

- Forget the cheap replicas on ebay
- Don't trust breaker on condition, mileage, age. They may have been misinformed, or the part could have been replaced on the scrap car.
- If a used one is obtained, replace rectifier and regulator just in case. Parts are 50 GBP, it's lost anyway if it needs to be taken off for repair.

Problem now fixed (finally LOL), the Wood Auto rectifier was a perfect match, and after a 120km test run, never a dim light and a charge voltage under load between 13.7-14.0V.
