I'm new here.

Well, I'm new here, I finally got me a Scorpio. N490EOO, a Silver 4 door 24V Ultima. I used to look after it for a couple here in Doncaster, they are moving house, it's in the way they said. Would I take it away for them please!!  The deal is I pay them when I want to! I was wondering, with the "OO" in the Reg, was it a factory demonstrator/press vehicle? Anyone got any ideas about this?
I hope to learn lots about it, the only faults so far are the bootlid not opening (I suspect the button is stuck in and the microswitch is jammed in. I have been able to remove the trim to flick the lid open) and one of the backlights on the Climate Control portion of the dash is inoperative. Also a cold start low idle, but this soon clears. I suspect a temp sensor somewhere.
I have yet to actually drive it, as I am sorting insurance currently. So, this summer sees me in comfort! I drive my 1970 Land Rover diesel every day, so this will make a nice quiet change!

Thanks for reading.

Albert.
Welcome to the site of insanity !! your car bears an Essex (OO) registration.Take care when removing the CC panel, the clips break off, there are four, two at the top directly above the recirc and A/C buttons, and two at the bottom between the recirc and temp and A/C and temp buttons, best to use a couple of credit cards to free the clips and pull the left hand side out first then slide the unit to the left as there is a lug on the right hand end preventing withdrawal.Regarding the boot lock, the barrel can be removed by sliding the big clip off first, then there is a small hole in the bottom of the plastic sleeve through which a small screwdriver or rod about 30mm long is inserted to free the retainer allowing the barrel to be pushed out,it is best to remove the lock first,4x 10mm bolts. The best way to confirm the electronic fault pertaining to the engine is by way of an OBD scan.Everything you need to know about your Scorp can be found on this site,or from the massive pool of experience of it's participants.

ps. You are not quite in the right section, this one is really for sightings, maybe advice section ?
