can some kind soul inform me where the cruise control relay is situated. the cruise control has ceased to function. I have checked all the switches, resistors on the steering wheel etc. the multiplug on the actuator appears to be ok. the owners handbook mentions that the relay is in glovebox but there are only two relays sited there, headlamp washer and heater blower motor. thanking you in anticipation,

Yes indeed it should be a green one in the roof of the glovebox ! someone on here related a story of seizure in the unit up near the radiator,I seem to remember him dismantling it and freeing the stuck parts, never done it myself though, maybe he will pop up and tell you ! GOZZ

Have you checked that the plunger on the cruise control brake pedal switch is pulled fully out ?

Also check that the cable is still connected to the throttle linkage. It is a small plastic banjo clip and can wear or get knocked off. I think This may help.

thank you to all contributors : the plunger at the rear of the brake pedal comes fully out , the banjo clip is ok, and the relay is still missing ! the steering wheel CC ON switch does not instigate the Cruise Control no light on the dash as well which led me to believe the relay may be faulty, the circuit does not appear to be receiving the signal

hi there the 'light' doesn't come on until you set the speed. ie, press on then the + or - button. then the light will be on and the car's speed will be controlled. re the relay. it's mostly a 'red herring'. most car never had one. it's ran through the horn circuit, so check the horn works, if it's not just needing the speed set. hth

thanks chaps. it is an auto. the horn works. I wasn't clear enough with my statement, " no green light on the dash ". know what you mean when light only comes on when speed is set. CC has worked reliably for ages but now has ceased to function totally. it is as though it is now O/C. doesn't matter what combination of buttons are pressed no CC. I suppose the next thing to check is the actuator
