It looks like the rear load area(estate) has never been used at all, and when I lift the cover....I think this is a very early Scorpio despite its 97 plate, it has puddle lights and red warning lights in the doors etc...Well anyway, to the right of the spare wheel (unused Michelin) there is a pre-formed quite large container are only about 4 cm deep which has a variety of sections, which is empty, what would this have been for?
Warning triangle...first aid kit?
All help much appreciated
I'm getting a bit dweebie, now I might have to buy an anorak AND a tartan thermos flask, mind you my balacava is a little tight, maybe a "Ford" embossed one, to go with my Dagenham undercrackers?
Cheers

Hi Brian. That section was used to store the roof bars ( a cost option ). The spaces are for 2 x cross rails & 4 x securing brackets. I actually removed mine & made a bespoke tool kit to go in it's place. A leather covered sheet of MDF with the shapes ( for spanners, sockets, screwdrivers etc ) routered out. That was a few years ago now, when i had fingers that work & a lot more patience Wink

How do the roof bars fit in the extra section ?....I bought a pair of genuine scorp estate roof bars on Ebay a few weeks ago & can't work out how they should fit snug  Undecided

Should there be some kind of moulding that should fit in there to hold them ?

hi  there

is this not a throw back to the granada estate, as iirc, the scorpio bars are longer and don't fit in.

Not too sure tbh. My 12v estate came with the moulded foam tray , but no bars Sad . Im sure i saw someone with the bars fitted ! It wasnt you was it Rodders ? ?. Andrew is quite correct though. The granada bars are too long & the brackets a slightly different shape
