Price when new?

Hi all, new bloke to the forum here Smiley

Random question for the day as Google can't tell me, I'm hoping someone here can.

Anyone got a price list of Scorpios when they were new / launched?

If not, a best-guess for an Ultima would do!

Just curious Smiley

Have a read of This page and check out the links on the left in particular the press cuttings one. They were, depending on model and spec, in the region of £26,000. IIRC my 2.0ltr Ultima estate was about £29k when new.

I have the original receipt for mine.   Pre-facelift 2.3 Ultima, with all extras except the reverse sensors.   Manufactured July 1997, registered 1st August 1998.   £19800.   Birmingham registered, the original owner had a 'Car-Trim' company and bought two as company cars for the directors.   Both the directors retired fairly soon after, and the both cars were kept by both directors at which time they were re-registered into the private names.   So mine has had two owners from new, but one really.

Squinting at the brochures online here (thanks for the link) it seems £26,275 was the list price for the 24v Ultima and £26,275 is £33,632 in today's money!

Thanks for all the replies, nice one Smiley

If it helps, I used the currency converter on the National Archives web site to convert 1995 money to what it's worth today - http://fwd4.me/LLM

By the look of those prices I should imagine it means a long and hard inspired think as to whether you could possibly afford to buy one !!
