Now, you know I bought this Black Cosworth Estate with 25k on the clock, I really am like a dog with 2 wossnames, I love it to bits, It is just like a new car, anyway, I was wondering, I quite fancy those chrome alloys but I've never seen any for sale. I even considered buying a replacement set and having mine sprayed (I'm told by my American chum, that this is quite common in the US) I even like the look of Black Chrome wheels.. Question is: Are there any Chrome wheels about? Has anybody experience of this new-fangled Spray finish. I know thw surface has to be perfect but luckily my 12 spokes are like new. Any help much appreciated Brian

I used to have a set of 12 spoke chrome wheels on my old Scorp, but unfortunately the chrome peeled off really bad. This is apparently a very common problem. I think you'd have to be very lucky to find a set of perfect condition chrome wheels, so I reckon your best bet is probably to get them chromed yourself

Do those alloy wheels and tyres fit the Scorpio as they seem a little low in height as 205/40/17? They can't be a set designed for the Scorpio as they are not wide enough? They also seem rather pricey and it would have to depend on the quality of the refurb etc

the RS 7 soft spoke was a cost option for the scorpio (and were for many other makes eg mondeo) but were fitted with the 225 / 40 / 17 tyres when placed on a scorp, id say these have been on a sierra saph or escort to have that tyre if you remember mine from harewood (RS7 Diamond cut), they are based on this wheel and fit a treat! price wise thats about right for a set of those with a tyre second had, look to pay around £600 for new with NO tyres the Diamond cuts like mine are no longer made but expect to pay about a grand for an average set
