Hi Car failed mot on rear brake calipers (Seized Up) am I right in assuming the disc thickness is 10.5 mm, If I have to order new ones I need to know this information, makers info is a little vague on this.

http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/brake-discs-buy.php

P/N : SG3054 £7.01 + VAT each is what you need.

Rear pads : MDB1287 £9.66 + VAT per set.

Rear calipers : 2 different types available £70 & £39 each - more expensive ones most likely for the vented discs but suggest you call them to check.

Doubt you will find the bits cheaper anywhere else, even on ebay.

Now I know perhaps one or two of you may have undertaken these jobs yourselves but at the age of 70 I no longer have the motivation and consequently find it to much of a chore so I decided to bite the bullet and let the garage do it I must add I have owned this car for some eight years now and thanks to you guys the cost of the maintainance over this period has been very low The car now is in excellent condition With sills replaced and wheel arches refurbished I was going to sell it with full MOT and 6 months Tax but when it comes to it I simply cannot bring myself to do this after all were could I get a car to match the spec of these we own, Crazy money I guess, so all being well I will hang on for at least another year God willing, once again thank you for all the help.

£350 to keep a car on the road for another year is NOT crazy money in my opinion - many people have to pay that, and more for routine servicing on cars these days.

Guy at work just had a cambelt changed on his Audi S6 - over £1000   Shocked Shocked Shocked
That is a scheduled replacement...every 60k miles...

What I meant was, that it would be crazy money to buy todays modern car with the same spec.. and yes I agree the money I spent yesterday I cannot really complain about.
