Surely if you have an ultima, the fog light plug will already be there, somewhere.

Ive a set of front fog lights in a pre facelift bumper with wiring that is surplus to requirements if that helps.

the wiring is there on the loom, 2 plugs, one for the indicator and one for the fog light. but there is no plug socket on the fog light its self. on the old bumper the fog /indicator units are two seperite items but on the new bumper the unit is one unit.

You need to swap the lights, the "new" light is just an indicator with a fake fog light.

You will either have foglight/indicator unit or one large indicator lens.

Remember when the facelifts came out the Ghia was the Base model, Ghia X and Ultima were the higher specs.

Foglights were a cost option and it looks like it was 1997 before they became standard spec even for the Ultima

Yet that's been my understanding too, front fogs not exist below Ultima level! Grin At least in the early days anyway. Unless you insisted by ticking the box to have them added I presume

The police ones seem to all be basic spec, no sunroof etc,

I've had a couple, the one I'm taking to bits just now was apparently used by some sort of protection unit before being put out to pasture as a private hire car for a few years, both of them have had great running engines though, probably due to being well looked after
