All things are possible although i think the old VM lump has a reputation for blowing headgaskets on standard boost levels so tuning might require outlay for machining or exotic gaskets (such as ferriday copper items) Not sure on the size or manafacturer of the standard turbo either, but upgrades shouldn't be too difficult - as long as you can cut and weld then you could put a whole range of turbos on, including those from a petrol engine ( they're fine for diesel, just not the other way round lol) - i know of a guy running a cosworth garret T3 on a 2.5 Di transit !

thanks for the advice, so what would you think about taking a TD engine out of a transit or a maverick and using them instad of the scorpio diesel.

There is a site dealing with VM diesel engines only. I am convinced that you can find someone there who has experience of upgrading the engines. Send a question to the site and you might get an answer. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/VM-dieselengine-group/ Krister PS. You can upgrade the engin to a 2.8.... DS.

| I looked at a similar thing a while ago, I think the transit engines are too high, although it would depend which engine you were using

There's a 3.2 litre VM engine fitted to the modern range of Jeep 4x4's like the Cherokee - look the same as the scorp engine too - if you ignore the 2 extra cylinders lol. Di engine is a bit too agricultural for a car IMO, even in TD form - only made 110 bhp in the biggest turbo form (but it would probably drive to alpha centari and back before it needed a service lol) I did play with the idea of one TD engine which would be trick and enrage the "off rooooad !" brigade in once fell swoop Rip the engine out of a TD5 landy, ranger or disco and fit it into a scorp; 150bhp, well tunable and they are RAPID. Probably a lot of issues to deal with tho.....
