Well it's time to get some new boots for my Scorpio, I though the 24v models only had the 225's ? I'm on a bit of a budget Any ideas ? Thanks Steve.

Tyres and condoms have the same rule - buy the best rubber you can afford as a blowout at high speed can be costly ! try www.mytyres.co.uk Used them for years and their prices are pretty competetive; as for reccomendations, i generally use Hankook or Falken. Part worns .... never know what you're going to get (although i have bought part worns for my transit in the past with no problems) and for a heavy, high performance motor like a cossie i'd be extra cautious.

Hankook is a good hard wearing tyre. Less grippy than some, but I like them.

The tyres i've looked at getting are NANKANG NS-2 VR, I've had 2 sets before on scorpio 12 spokes, but 205/55/16 when i had them fitted to one of my old mondeos & the focus estate i have, they have good grip in the wet ! Steve.

Excellent choice Steve. Im a huge fan of NS-2 's. Currently got Kumos on the Mondeo which are also very grippy...If a little noisy

I've bought part worn tyres in the past and not had any problems. If you buy a used car you effectively have a car with a set of part worn tyres anyway but you don't go and buy a whole new set...

I'm need to get some new boots for my wife's 2.3 Ultima Saloon and I could do with a little advice on the correct tyres to use. Currently we have 12 spoke 225/50/R16/92W tyres, but I'm looking to change to 195 tear drop alloy's for winter tyres. So I will need 195/65/R15/? I understand for winter tyres I can go down one rating in speed to V, but what is the correct load rating? I don't think I need 92 for smaller tyres? Any advice welcome Cheers, Simon
