Water pump for a 24v.

My car which is in good condition has now covered 90,000 miles and the water pump is leaking. In view of the large price difference my local garage suggests using 'After Market' at £60. I am inclined towards Ford which is about £172 including VAT. Any views appreciated? Malcolm73

Unless the parts situation has changed ? there were no aftermarket waterpumps for the 24v and new ones from Ford allways seem to be on back order. The older BOA type 24v used the same pump as the 12v v6 and aftermarket ones are easily available . but the BOB as fitted to Scorpio's used a different pump not used on anything else

| There is an article somewhere on here explaining how to convert the 12 valve pump for a BOB,no doubt Simmo will find it for you in a flash The pumps sold by factors and on eBay purported to be for the BOB,are in fact 12v ones and of course will not fit. GOZZ.
