I get mine from our local engine recon place,Payen do the gasket AC5680,and the bolt set HBS032,can't remember what I paid last time, now you have the details you can check though. Most pattern parts are cheaper than so called 'genuine' parts, but always worth a check. GOZZ.

Thanks GOZZ Mike, well this looks good! mines a 98. 1 x FORD SCORPIO 2.3 SCORPIO INJ 96-98 Head Gasket 1 x FORD SCORPIO 2.3 SCORPIO INJ 96-98 Head Bolts Total £51.42 I would imagine the bolts torque up/stretch, the same degree as Ford ones, what you reckon? That just leaves the tensioner, from Ford, huge saving there! Thanks again, where is that Thumbs up smiley! Bob

ive reused the 2.3's tensioner before, it can be stripped down and reset if your carefull, have a look at the galaxy stuff if your stuck, they are essentially the same engine (scorpio code Y5A galaxy Y5B)

Thanks guys, Matt i would like to reset the tensioner, is there a how to or clue as to how anywhere please? i set one off accidently and had to scrap it also did you buy that sunroof offered? the one i have access to is in a compound, only availiable at certain times, which is a pain tying up times with the owner of the car. i want wishbones off it! i got the new head gasket from Ford for £33. aftermarket price £47! waiting on the bolts delivery, hope tomorrow! Then i can get the 2-3 altogether and ready for flushing the oil out of the coolant! lots going on! rebuild 2-3 gather bits for 24v for mot, at the same time as flash on lock mod on the wifes 2-9! all estates. Thanks Bob

Hi Bob I dont remember much about doing it as i did it on the 2.3 estate i put the 2.0 top end on 3 years or so ago now, i think i just pulled it all apart to drain the oil out then put it all back with a slight mod or tweek to the spring clip, if you or any one has an old one knocking about i could look at doing it again and post the pics up, i do remember it was a pain to get it to fire out once it was all set up in the engine but a hammer and a small bar did the trick lol
