Hi, my dear old Scorpio has just developed a slapping noise as i drive along, its not the engine cos when staitionary and revved there is no slapping noise,... it actually sounds like when u used to put a lollipop stick in the spokes of your bike wheel as a kid...
any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Regular clonking noise from the rear which gets louder / quieter when you make a turn - left or right would probably be a CV joint.
Not difficult to change but clean the muck out from the heads of the Torx bolts or they will 'round out'  Angry

Sierra XR4i's are great...especially when fitted with 4WD Smiley

Had this on Saturday, one of the rears, most prob offside; I also thought it might be something stuck in the tyre but couldn't find nowt. It shortly dawned on me most likely a rattling brake pad, sure nuff disappeared next time I used the brakes hard.  Smiley

PS: one 'slap' whatever you want to describe it as, for each turn of the wheel
