Is there a step by step guide for changing the engine oil/filter etc. in existence? Please assume no prior knowledge as far as the Scorpio set-up goes but I do know what a screwdriver looks like!! I have done a search and couldn't find anything. I'm just wondering if a guide exists hidden amongst all the pdfs on this site! Thanks.

Hi Sirbb I cant find anything on the scorpio site, but here are some webpages that give you a step by step guide http://www.carbibles.com/diy-oilchange.html http://www.carbasics.co.uk/how_to_change_oil.htm They are not related directly to the scorpio but It should be a similar process. There are a few posts here on this forum discussing the best typs of oil, you may want to browse through these too. Thanks Tony

Thanks for these links. Where is the sump washer/bolt located exactly? Am I right in thinking it is plastic?

http://autorepair.about.com/od/regularmaintenance/ss/oil_change.htm Follow that procedure. its pretty much the same for any car. Although its not the safest idea I like to take mine on a long run before I change it to get the oil hot, the theory being that it will drain better and anything in it will not have settled and therefore not drain out. BUT it does get hot and will burn you so I'm not recommending that method I also like to leave it draining overnight, I can normally get an extra half a cupful out of it overnight
