Hi,

Anybody got any experience fitting one of these into a Scorp?

http://tinyurl.com/6auytty

Trying to figure out what lead I need to convert ISO to Ford, I think its one of these ...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330459894896

I'm upgrading from a VNR9000, with connections as below.

Also, anybody know if its possible to retain use of CD changer with an aftermarket stereo?

Cheers,

mc

Heya mate,

Yep that iso adaptor lead will work, all ford wiring is the same

You can buy unit that will allow you to use the stock changer and another to keep use of the coloum control

Why upgrade the vnr? I think its a great unit, what are you doing with it once the new unit is fitted?

Looked again at the lead you pointed to and it does look OK!!

Are the rear connections on the KENWOOD DNX5220BT standard two plug ISO though?

Also, be aware that the VNR (and the aperture on the Scorpio) is 1.8 DIN and not double DIN so you will need to hack a bit of the radio surround out and possibly the rear metal behind the dash to make it fit

I agree, the VNR is a good unit and I will be keeping it for possible future use in a camper - Mazda Bongo Huh if it fits.

But I'd forgotten about hacking out the dash\cage a bit & this has now put me off slightly. I'm sure I saw some photos a while back on this forum of someone else doing same.

Guess its best to sacrifice the cigarette lighter\tray and hack downwards?

I would consider that option too Grin  However the ash tray electrics will need cutting and insulating I think.

Where can you get an adaptor so the stick on the wheel works, Mat.  I tried one from halfords and could not get it to work, I have a Dab 53 in mine.
