Diesel idler pulley layout?

Hello, as my drive belt broke and ate all my three plastic idler pulleys on my Scorp (2,5tdi 92kW) and Ford dealer's prices were making me almost weep blood tears I bought second hand set of pulleys plus tensioner from a 85kW diesel engine (92kW has 2 pulleys diam ~80mm and 1 pulley diam ~70mm and 85kW has 3 pulleys diam ~80mm metal). As I installed them it became obvious that the drive belt can't be tightened enough so I was wondering if there has to be a rack of somekind for the upper pulley so it can be installed in the right place or does the bolt screw in one of the 4 threaded holes that are in the area (three of which were used to fix the rack for the previous upper plastic pulley diam 70mm). So could anyone take a photo of their set where I could see how the upper idler pulley is fixed? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I have seen this page before and tightened the belt according to the given distance 82mm between the bolts. However because of the slightly different system between 92kW pulleys and 85kw pulleys I can't get the belt to the correct tension and it's almost loose on the pulleys. So I don't know to which bolt hole to fix my upper pulley or if there is a rack of somekind. I did put it in the upper hole which is to the left of the injection pump. I tried even to put it to the lower hole to the left of the injection pump but there is a cover plate for the inj pump ratchet ( don't know if its the correct term) but there is a bolt head on the cover which is in the way of the drive belt and the cover is too close for the bolt hole so the spacer doesnt fit there either.
