I shall soon be sending the remains of my doner car to the scrappy, so before it goes can anyone tell me if the 2.0 16v head will drop straight on to a 2.3 block without any modifications, if it will I will take it off and keep it just in case.

I'm not sure that it's just a straight fit, but it will go on.   I took a brand-new 2.0ltr head off a brand-new 2.3ltr engine, for the very reason of hanging-on to the head in case mine goes.   Course now I'm stuck with a brand-new 2.3ltr block that's taking-up too much bloody room!

pretty sure its a straight fit Rod, I think its the inlet manifold that need a bit of modding if you swap them.

Although if you swap the whole head and manifold it should be easy.

I'm sure the 2.0 head on the 2.3 gives it a big power boost, Matt knows more about it than me, I think he did it

Yep it does on, keep the cams and intake to, if you swap all the top end bits from the 2.0 onto the 2.3 you end up with the rs2300
