Blocking of doors, council.

Blocking of doors, council.
Here you write that, at lock-out from a charm there is no condition indication. It not so. It is necessary - to press once the button "lock" and slowly to press two more times the same button. Also there will be to you a blinking. In this case not probably to open a luggage carrier from a charm. Good luck.

tve.
Are you saying that if you lock the doors with the remote fob the indicators flash in recognition ? not all cars have the facility programmed into them, therefore some will not flash.

On mine the indicators flash once when you press the lock button twice on the remote which activates the deadlocking and alarm set ( I think ! )

By default, the scorpios for the United Kingdom do not flash.

The scorpios for the rest of Europe do flash.

Once = lock, and door handles will open from inside.

2 times within 3 seconds (I think) = lock, and, inside door handles will not open. (Is called 'double-locking')

Yes that sounds like it.

Mine is early '95, when the Ford specialist place that does the MOT's put a FDS2000 on it once, it filtered back to me that it was an "early type" and "can't be programmed", or summink he couldn't do with it, what specifically I dunno as the info was second hand lol Grin

Mine is a July 1997 Build, and registered August 1st 1998, Pre-facelift.   Press the locking button once, it makes the usual locking sound, and all indicators flash once.   If you press the locking button again within 2 seconds (as per manual) it makes a further locking sound and the indicators flash another twice.   If you lock it with the key and hold the key over to the locking position when all or some of the windows are open, it global-closes all the windows (and it did the sunroof as well when it was electric) and flashes twice.   But mine is a strange one, it has one-touch down and up for all the electric windows from the drivers four switches, and one-touch down and up facility on front passenger side for the passenger as well.   But the first and only owner before me was a Auto-Trim company that bought two consecutive reg ultimas for the directors.   I think they specified extras or retro fitted a couple of them.   The only thing I'm not sure is right, it needs the 'boot' button to be pressed twice to release the lock, and no-matter what you do, you can't get the boot open when the engine is running either by pressing the button on the fob in the car, or pressing the 'boot-lock' button?   Strange!

PJD.
All the later cars appear to have the boot lock inoperative when the ignition is switched on,obviously to keep the opportunist out of your boot at traffic lights ! but I never had one that needed two presses to open.I think all cars have inoperative fobs when the ignition is on.

The boot lock feature can also be turned on or off with the fds2000

A member years ago made a flash on lock mod, quite a few members bought them, so its got a chance the cars have passed on to unsuspecting owners who think the cars flashed as standard

If you read the first part of This article it may explain things. IIRC it is possible to programme some cars, with the FDS 2000. to allow the boot to be opened with the engine running. Known as the 'Taxi variant'.  Wink

Hi Gozz Have to disagree I have owned the car for some 10 years now and until recently as mentioned Locking the car on the remote was indicated by flashing and three bleeps, opening on remote flashing and one bleep but like I mentioned there are now no audible signs just flashing, no big deal but have to double check that the car is indeed locked as I was so use to walking away and letting the bleeps tell.

Must be a modification, the Scorpio never had an audible alert as standard
