Heater Problem

Hello there,

I wonder if you guys could give me some advice please.

My heater in my ultima 24v has stopped blowing out warm air. The air con still works fine but when I turn the climate control up to high it only blows out cold air.

At one point I could get some warm air out by turning the blower down to its lowest possible setting but now it wont blow any warm out at all.

Can anybody help please?

Many thanks
Pete

The first thing is to follow the procedure here which should identify the fault and re-set the system. The links on the left of the page will give you more information. Wink

Hi, thank you for your quick response.

I have followed the instructions for resetting the system as listed on the link you posted. It displayed 00 and also 50. No other error codes came up.

After resetting the system the problem still remains the same.

I'm not sure if this could be relevant or not but I have noticed that my radiator fan has been coming on a lot more often than usual. Just wondering if a potential radiator issue could be linked in any way.

Thanks,
Pete

could be the heater matrix blocked ..run engine so hot & check the temp of the return rubber hose from the matrix  to water pump ...runs round the right side(n/s) of the 2.3 engine compartment looking from front  just adjacent to shock absorber mount; not sure if same location on 24v

should be almost to hot to hold  in fact should be almost same temp (a tad less )  as the hose going to matrix from the stat ..fingers crossed it isnt ......maybe air lock

Presumably you have checked that the header tank is full?. What does the temperature guage do ?. Does it rise/ fall significantly as it should stay in the 'central' position once the car is warmed up.

Hi, header tank is full, and the temp gauge sits nice and central when warmed up and stays there.

Going to have a good check of the hoses to/from the matrix tomorrow.

thanks

Be carefull when you are testing them. Don't yank them about as they connect on to plastic fittings which can break. Smiley
