recently changed from a 3.9 ,7 inch to the 7.5. was using tripode shafts from an 1800 drum brake car with a disc conversion. now trying to fit disc brake shafts (lobro) with the disc hubs.. the problem lies in the output flanges from the diff, they are too short, so I am unable to put the snap rings on. Does the 7.5 use a longer shaft? and in your opinion is it nessesary to use the snap rings. the diff and shafts are installed in a Fulcrum sportscar!!!!!.

The splines in the diff wont match the shaft properly , but if you fit the lobro joint onto the tripode shaft ( diff end only ) you shouldnt have a problem i know of a few Sierra's with this set up

I have the lobro shafts complete from end to end including the diff flange and hub end, plus the correct disc brake hubs, instead of drum with a conversion to disc. My problem is the fact that im using a 7.5 diff, and think the diff flange and stubs are from a 7inch diff, therefore not long enough in the spline to be able to put the C clip on, my question is: Are the 7.5 splines longer than the 7 splines? another point being the diameter of the flange, mine are 100mm, whereas the longer spline shafts could be 108mm.

Not sure on the lengths between the 7 and 7.5 pinions, I would have thought they'd be the same but maybe not. The 100mm flanges on the 7.5 diffs are fitted to the DOHC models 2.0 2.3 and your 7 inch diff flanges should also be 100mm The V6's and diesels with the 7.5 diff have 108mm flanges. Let us know how you get on
