Fuse boxes removal

I do not remember any one giving a procedure for removal of the fuse boxes and I have never seen it in the TIS disc. I do know that several members have successfully removed and rebuilt the fuse boxes and I am sure someone will soon be along to give you some advice.
One thing I do remember is that you have to be quite agile to get to some of the bolts underneath the dash!

batters side pops out witg tge 2 bolts at the front, the drivers side is bolted from under tge dash

I have the bolts out of the battery side box but it won't pull free from the big round tube that goes back into the dash. Maybe I need to pull harder or is there some sort of release I can get from the engine compartment?

Pull harder and jiggle a bit if all the bolts are out. It is meant to be water tight and is in quite tight.

StevO, you need to leave the lower outer plastic casing part of the box in place, the part with the relays, fuses etc comes out of this by releasing some clips on the inner sides of it, if you look closely you can see them between the inner and outer sections, it will then pull up from the front and expose the connectors underneath so you can disconnect them and remove it.

NO. The drivers side requires total dexterity!!. You need to lay in the foot well with your head amongst the pedals and release the various connectors. THEN you need to undo four nuts which hold the actual box in place. Naturally you need to see what you are doing so a head light is useful. Shoving the drivers seat right back helps but a certain amount of contortion is needed!.

I had a Granada Scorpio years ago and one day it was completely dead as a dodo. I fiddled about and was puzzled by the situation as I knew the battery was ok. In the end I called an auto electrician in and he set about working his way through all the joints from the ignition lock and so on...and found, in the end, water had got into the main fuse box, which was on the driver's side, and it was all open circuit at this point.
But...what a nightmare getting there.
The corroded fuse box was replaced, and everything was OK again.

The driver and passenger seats came out last night - I thought I'd better do it before the fuse boxes were removed..... and I have a headlight and swear box handy

Battery side out thanks to the advice from BikerDon.
Even with the seat out the driver's side box is 'awkward', so I thought I'd take a few bits out of the way and have ended up two bolts short of taking the whole ******* dash out.
At least there's a lot more salvaged that can be kept for spares for everyone here.

Driver's fuse box out - there was bit more to it than the pictures showed..... I'll post my pics and some explaination tomorrow. Time for beer now

As I was scrapping the car anyway I took the whole dash out thinking that would make things easier...
After removing the accelerator pedal I looked up and saw no bolts.
The black felt/soundproofing trim has to be pulled off, see the round black plactic retaining screw on the right, there is one on the left too.
When that was pulled off there is a plactic mesh that has to be removed to allow the multiplugs to be disconnected. You could cut the wires but I am trying to save as much of the loom as possible in case anyone needs it.
Undo the four nuts and lift the box out.
Removing the seat only took 10 mins but would be worth it to allow room for manouevre.
