Is it difficult to change the rocker cover gasket on my 1996 16V DOHC estate. There is oil leaking into the plug area. I cannot find any reference to the procedure on the site. Can the old gasket be repaired.

No it's not a difficult job,the gaskets that seal the spark plug holes are separate from the main gasket, there is little point in reusing old gaskets as they will be compressed.Take care not to drop the dowel tubes that the bolts go through.
If Simmo picks your enquiry up,being the master of references he will almost certainly tell you where to look on the site.

Didn't beat Gozz, but beat Simmo with the manual Grin

Looks simple enough in the manual. If you type manual into the search box on the home page of the Scorpio site you’ll get a return for the pdf’s. The engine manuals are here:
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/DOHC2-3manual.htm

The cylinder head one shows the removal in the first pages & tightening sequence towards the end.

I agree, it is an easy enough job, if a little fiddly.   The point has been made about the dowels, well to heed this, it's very easy to lift the rocker-box off and a couple of the dowels to drop into the cylinder-head.   Count them all carefully out and in, some will just drop out and others will need persuasion.   I dropped one into the cylinder-head and it was hiding beside a valve spring!!!!!   Be especially careful with the ones at the front, they could drop down into cam-chain area.
