Estate Tailgate struts

Suddenly today my tailgate failed to stay up. No warning.Been perfectly normal until today. I had a couple of spair struts BUT they may have been from a bonnet. Does anyone know if they are the same as replacing the 'duff' one still results in the tailgate failing to stay up!. The 'duff' one is clearly shot as there is no resistance whatsoever but the replacement one is really strong when tested?. Any advice/help appreciated and if anyone has spares please let me know. Mike, I do have bonnet struts available if they are the same as the one's for your tailgate. When you find out, let me know.  Cheers Lee

Hi Andrew,thanks for that. I've just left a message on your home 'phone and I've left one for Stuart as there is an old post saying he has a box of the things!!. There's a suprise!!. I just thought that Chart was useful as it lists all models for bonnet,boot, tailgate and shows how they are measured. Hope all is well. Mike.
